Metallic oxides are fumed and wound into this design creating the effect of a spinning galaxy.
The design is inspired by the 1997 movie Men in Black where an entire galaxy is contained in a marble ornament hanging from the cat Orion's collar.
Each sparkling particle represents one of a billion stars which are backed by a contrasting deep blue before casing in a gather of crystal clear glass.
A window is cut and polished enabling the design elements to be viewed as two distinct images:
One is a magnified view using the magic of refraction provided by the curvature of the globe.
The other is a direct view for peering into the cosmos.
The design includes an engravable marble presentation base.
