The first gather of molten glass is fumed with 24kt gold. A second gather of clear cases the gold and a proprietary treatment of cobalt is applied in a swirling matrix.
The finished design is cased in crystal clear glass and a window is cut and ground to a high polish for viewing the interior elements. See also Item #1015.
As a teenager I was asked if I wanted to go flying with a friend. I did, and have been a pilot ever since.
One phenomenon we are mindful of as pilots are wingtip generated Vortices, which are violent, horizontal tornadoes that are a byproduct of wing generated lift.
All aircraft produce them but the worst are generated by heavy aircraft in the landing configuration.
In over 40 years of flying I have only encountered airborne vortices two times, which is quite enough for one lifetime.
