This mold blown pitcher is another example of the precision of Ennion's glass formulas, processes and techniques.
The piece was produced in the early 1st Century AD and in spite of being 2000 years old, it has all the characteristics of a modern design.
The detail and symmetry of the lines Ennion carved into his master molds produced finished pieces that were centuries ahead of their time.
An Ennion signed cup found at Corinth in Greece in a sealed deposit together with a coin of AD 37-41 has provided a firm date for the early range of his career.
Ennion's signature is clearly visible in relief just beneath the handle in this image.
