A gather of glass is pulled from the crucible and pressed into metallic oxides to form the base of this design.
A small gather of clear is added and a ruby chip is picked up from the color kiln. The clear and ruby are then fused to a near liquid state.
A steel Jack is used to open depressions in the ruby glass which is heated outside the furnace with a torch.
The depressions are then pulled and twisted into flames.
A final gather of clear glass cases the design which is then rag polished and rounded before being placed in the annealer.
