This design is an example of art glass created in the brand colors of Hydro International.
Creating custom designs in Corporate colors adds enormous prestige to a presentation.
The Waterspout series are built in alternating layers of clear, opaque and transparent colors.
This technique captures ambient light within the vase by illuminating colors via refraction.
Light also reflects off a concealed opaque white layer which transmits and magnifies the color revealing a depth and brilliance only possible with glass.
Each design is unique and produces a variety of striking images as as can be seen on the left.
One such effect is "Asterism" a phenomenon common to Star Sapphire gemstones.
This is accomplished by draping molten optic threads onto the vases exterior.
