By casing the interior waves with a gather of clear crystal glass we are able to sculpt an ocean tempest.

Look at the third modeling image and you'll see a lightning bolt refraction viewed through a bubble within the design.

Now look at the lightning bolt in the fourth modeling image. This is the magic of the glass medium.

The Tempest is inspired by a midnight crossing we made to the Channel Islands under a full moon.

A storm was building in the north that made its presence known around 1:00 am.

Strong winds blew the clouds and sea into wispy streaks called Mare's Tails which raced across the ocean and night sky illuminated by the moon.

The return crossing was made under power because our sails were blown to tatters.

When we made landfall there were eighteen boats of various sizes that had slipped their moorings and washed up on the beach during the storm.
