Item No. 2064
We received a request to create a special glass with the colors of Southern Oregon's Crater Lake.
The specification called for glass fused with an ethereal electric blue like the water of the famous caldera.
Our best color artist worked for months till a new design finally emerged.
Whether looking into the glass or the lake itself, the effect is the same.
Below right is a close up of the original vase and the modeling image used to develop the color.
When the call came to produce a glacier design we reviewed the modeling imagery and knew exactly
where to go for the color.
The accumulated ice in the world's glaciers comprise the largest reservoir of freshwater on Earth.
Glaciers in temperate, alpine and seasonal polar climates store water during the cold season and release it as melt water during the summer months.
Glacial water supports plants, animals and human activity when all other sources are limited or unavailable.
