In 2016 we were asked to produce a design for the Campari brand.
Campari has a storied reputation for commissioning artists so we began with a review of their 156 year history.
We discovered the annual Campari calendars featuring models Olga Kurylenko, Penelope Cruz, Uma Thurman and Eva Green in red gowns.
The folds of their red satin gowns made an elegant statement so we incorporated them into the design.
In each year's calendar the models are holding glasses filled with Campari.
Look closely at the interior and you will see it is also filled with liquid Campari surrounded by crimson folds of glass.
Our design is not the first art glass commissioned by Campari.
In 1927 artist Fortunato Depero of the Scuola Reale Elisabettina school produced a sketch for Campari.
The glass the character is celebrating evolved into the famous Campari soda bottle.
The Campari bottle of 1932 is still in production and has become an iconic object that continues to inspire generations of Italian designers.
