The Nepenthe was created as a prestige piece for special recognition and corporate art displays.

The bright colors and light refracting features give the design a living quality. When your perspective changes
the design presents a variety of complex images.

The shape and color are modeled on the Nepenthes tropical pitcher plant.

The "Nepenthes" name first appeared 2,850 years ago in the Odyssey of Homer. Its literal translation means:
"The one that chases away sorrow."

In the Odyssey, Nepenthes is a magical potion that quells sorrow by inducing forgetfulness.

Telemachus, Ulysses son, was compelled by the goddess Athena to search for his father who had not returned from Troy.

On the journey Telemachus first visits Menelaus recently returned from the Trojan expedition.

Menelaus is glad to see the son of his ally but his presence brings up memories of the wars horrible events:

Then Helen, Zeus' daughter, thought of something. She quickly dropped into their wine a drug which eased men's pains and irritations, making them forget their troubles. A drink of this, once mixed in with wine, would guarantee no man would let a tear fall on his cheek for one whole day. - Book 4 of the Odyssey
